As a general guide, a 400-square-foot room typically requires a 9000 BTU mini split, a 550-square-foot room needs 12000 BTUs, and a 1000-square-foot room needs 18000 BTUs.
Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper setup, safety, and optimal performance, as mini split ACs are not designed for DIY installation. The compressor, located in the outdoor condenser, is the primary noise source in an AC system. The DELLA Mini Split operates quietly at just 25 dB, much lower than the typical 51 dB noise level of most window and portable AC units.
To clean and maintain the mini split system, you should seasonally clean the reusable filters, inspect the condenser and evaporator units, and keep the area around the outdoor unit clear.
